Mr. Marius-Sebastian Ionescu is the president of ONJN – the Romanian National Gambling Office since May 2018, after four years of leading as General Director the Gaming Monitoring and Informatization Division.
Mr. Ionescu has achieved his professional experience in over two decades of work, while his academic background includes Ph.D. in National Security and Public Order in progress, Master’s Degrees in Fraud Investigation and I.T. Security.
He is well known for his proactive approach to responsible gaming and transparency of this industry, planning to raise the awareness and improve this area of activity.
The ONJN is the regulatory and monitoring authority for gambling in Romania, established in 2013, on the need to ensure the prevention of gambling addiction, the protection of minors and the development of better supervision and better control of economic licensed economic operators in the field of gaming of luck.
